Iambic Pentameter

Iambic Pentameter by Adam Cuerden

Upon noticing that "Iambic pentameter" is actually amphibrachic, I couldn't resist writing this....

Iambic pentameter's all very well,
But verse in iambics is boring as hell
For ev-er-y poet that writes writes with ease
A sonnet, blank verses, whatever you please,
In endless, unchanging, invariant iambs
Incessant repeating for quoting by hams!
There's meters creative, exciting, and fun
And yet, when they write, they will only use one.
Iambic pentameter bores me to tears!
I haven't seen dactyls or trochees in years!
