Gluten-free Pop-Tarts

Nope, I don't know where you can find them. I have, however, written to the Whole Foods Gluten-Free Bakehouse suggesting that gluten-free toaster pastries would probably sell pretty well. You can, too. Glutenfree.Bakehouse@wholefoods.com

Or you can make them at home. Celiac.com has a recipe here.

If this blog were a Zippy the Pinhead strip, the dialogue would be "Gluten-free Pop-Tarts, gluten-free Pop-Tarts, gluten-free Pop-Tarts!"

And if that's what it takes to get gluten-free Pop-Tarts into the hands of the ordinary working Americans who are Celiacs, then that's what it takes.....

Gluten-free Pop Tarts, yaay! I saw your post over on Quinn's blog and had to stop by to comment. I've been gluten-free for the past 12 years (adult diagnosis).

Did Whole Foods Gluten-Free Bakehouse ever come out with them? There've been a lot of great GF foods come out on the market, but I don't remember seeing Pop Tarts at the GF store.

Hi Deb ~

No, no gluten-free Pop-Tarts so far. As far as I can tell, it's one of the few things for which there is no good GF substitute, but we can keep hoping.

I'm sorry it took me so long to leave the comment back. And I wish I had a better excuse than "I meant to do that sooner."

What's your favorite gf product? I think mine is the Vans waffles and the glutino flax seed bread.

All the best,

Leta

Hi Leta...I would have to say that my favorite GF product are the Kinnikinnick Foods donuts. OMG! They are soft and of the same consistency that I remember from their gluten counterpart.

Second on the list is probably the Bakery on Main granola mixes. Yummy!

I agree - Van's Waffles are my absolute favorite. And today I saw at my grocery - Van's French Toast sticks. I tried them and they are delicious!!
